System fo Effective Monthly Reflection
Hey, y’all! 🤠
It’s 4 days into March already and I find the beginning of the month the perfect time to reflect. It gives me time to get a feel for the month I am already in - a few days of space between what happened last month and what I am looking at this month.
I think I will stick with this system for my monthly reflections:
Focus on 3 areas to talk about (these can vary from month to month, depending on what’s been happening)
include a “key challenges of the month” at the end
talk about how I dealt with these challenges
Here it goes:
Medium:
I stepped up on publishing on Medium in February and my earnings reflected it. In February, I have more than doubled my earnings from January.
This was my February:

Compare to January:

Calls:
I switched from Calendly to Cal.com sometime in February. Had at least 1 call daily (on weekdays) for the last 2 weeks of February. I was excited about all the calls I was hopping on the first week but soon found that taking calls daily wears me out. I have since taken Wednesday off and am thinking about taking half of Friday off. I cannot complete other tasks or go relax when I am expecting calls all the time.
Friends:
I made SOOO many friends since I started on this journey in November 2023 and I made even more friends in February. Most of the friends I’ve made in February came from Medium.
Key Challenges in February:
sleep quality
scheduling / time-blocking
I’ve had a week of poor sleep and it took a toll on my mental wellbeing and productivity for the week. I was able to give myself a needed break as soon as I noticed my stress level went up.
How I Dealt With Key Challenges:
created a basic system for time-blocking using pieces of white paper
I allowed myself to either nap, sleep over a little, or go to bed early as I needed
I am learning how to fine-tune my “inner sensor” to aid me with better self-care
