I Ran Into Hemmingway
I found a vintage Hemmingway book at the thrift store the other day.
It's near mint.
1953 press.
I used to flip vintage so I have an eye for vintage items even when it’s a needle in a haystack.
I wasn't even looking for vintage books, I was just strolling down the isle.
Experiential knowledge is implicit.
The knowledge gained through personal experience, practice, and observation is deeply ingrained.
With enough repetition, knowledge becomes ingrained and intuitive.
I was able to spot the book because of the shade of color, the material of the book cover, and the fonts.
And I reached for it before the information even registered.
Experience saved me time from rummaging through the isle of books.
Small win.
Unexpected and effortless.
